Incorporating useful, sustainable features to Briar Row, our new residential development in Durham
Over the past months, our office has fielded dozens of enquiries regarding McCarrick Homes’ prominent site near the Arnison Centre on the A167. I’m delighted, therefore, to share with you our digital preview of the six finished houses which will extend from Front Street, Pity Me into a new cul-de-sac called Briar Row. Named after a road which historically existed near the site, these six terraced, three-bed homes were designed by our long-standing partners at Dixon Dawson Architects and benefit from McCarrick Homes’ trademark high-end finishes and thoughtful design features, with parking and a small but private garden for each property.
Unusually for this type of home, residents will also have the luxury of underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, coupled with high-tech air source heat pumps - two sustainable solutions which will ensure that each house is constantly cosy and warm whilst simultaneously drastically cutting heating costs in winter and helping to cool the houses during the heat of summer. It has been interesting speaking to industry colleagues about the growing demand for sustainable and fuel-saving features in new-build houses locally, and we are confident that these additions will prove especially popular with house-buyers now that climate change has become such an all-consuming issue. It’s also good to know that we are doing our bit to make these planet-friendly technologies available to regular house-buyers rather than only those with very large budgets.
Within 5 minutes walk of the well-served Arnison Centre, with major bus links between Durham and Newcastle easily accessed and local favourite Italian restaurant La Spada just a few steps up the road, this DH1 development has a lot to offer.
